I’m Sara, and this is the place where I’ve chosen to document and share my recipes and everything else I’m into that’s food-related.
My interest in food goes back to when I started cooking from children’s cookbooks when I was about ten years old. I remember making things like chicken cordon blue and stuffed mini meatloaves.
Throughout my life, my cooking efforts have waxed and waned depending on my circumstances. Now I like to cook anything from rustic Italian to southern to African. I love experimenting, and I love trying to make interesting, unique, and family-friendly dishes on a budget. One of my favorite things about food is that, no matter how much you think you know, there is always a new technique, a new ingredient, a new gadget, or a new combination that you never knew about before. And it’s awesome that these gadgets and ingredients are all available now, thanks to the internet.
I’ve also (more recently) become interested in how to use food ingredients to make health and beauty products. So while I mostly post food, sometimes I’ll post skincare or other cool stuff you can make in your own home.My favorite recipes come from Ina Garten. But I love Gwyneth Paltrow, Martha Stewart, and Giada de Laurentiis, too. I love looking at pictures of food and becoming inspired to try something outside of my comfort zone or create a new flavor combination with some unexpected twists.
