Lavender Sugar Body Scrub

Lavender Sugar Body Scrubaa

Lavender Sugar Body Scrub is a luxury item you can make in your kitchen in about 10 minutes.  It’s all-natural.  It also makes a great gift.  Even those who are not crafty can handle this.  Storing it in a mason jar is not only practical but also especially cute when it’s a gift.

If you don’t have dried lavender, that’s ok (although it’s a handy thing to have around, especially if you ever make these cookies).  The dried lavender just makes the scrub extra pretty.  Just make sure you get culinary lavender, not bulk lavender.  The difference is dirt and bugs and snail shells.

The ratio for making a scrub is generally 2.5:1 sugar to oil, so it’s easy to double.  But this amount will approximately fill a pint-sized mason jar.  I love using these shallow, wide-mouth mason jars because it makes it easy to get the scrub out.

Just add a little lavender gingham and some twine, and it looks better than anything you could buy from Bath and Body Works (plus it smells better, and it’s all natural).

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of dried culinary lavender pods

2 1/2 cups of white sugar

1 cup of coconut oil

10 drops of lavender essential oil

  1. Roughly chop the lavender. You can either do this by hand, or you can use a little gadget like this.
  2. In a mixing bowl, use a rubber spatula (not an electric mixer) to mix the sugar, coconut oil, lavender, and essential oil until combined.
  3. Transfer mixture to a pint sized mason jar and seal. You don’t need to refrigerate this; just keep it in the shower.

    1. Hey! I use it (or another variation about every other week). Right now I’m using one that is exactly the same as the lavender, but I put grapefruit and basil EO instead.
